How many books read in 2014?
33, plus two that I’m currently reading but didn’t finish before the deadline.
Fiction/Nonfiction ratio?
39:29.
Male/Female authors?
6:16
Favorite book read?
Station Eleven, by Emily St. John Mandel. Good lord, this book was beautiful.
(Runner’s up, in no particular order: Fangirl, Practical Magic, the Hunger Games trilogy, the Harry Potter series, Girl with a Pearl Earring, The Woman Who Wasn’t There, Best Alternate History Stories of the 20th Century.)
Least favorite?
Something Red, hands down.
Oldest book read?
The Shining.
Newest?
Looks like it’s Station Eleven.
Longest book title?
The Woman Who Wasn’t There: The True Story of an Incredible Deception.
Shortest title?
It, by Stephen King.
How many rereads?
18. Although to be fair, I recently came into possession of my mother’s old Nook and put a bunch of old favorites on it, since the bookcase in my new apartment can’t hold my full collection and I had to make the terrible choice between what physical books I could take and what I had to leave behind.
Most books read by one author this year?
8, since I pretty much devoured the Harry Potter series again.
Any in translation?
Not a one.
And how many of this year’s books were from the library?
Noooooooone.
